The Isle of Man Athletics Association held an open Junior Pentathlon Championship on 3rd September 2016 at the NSC, Douglas. The conditions were far from ideal but everyone did really well. Here are the results.
Congratulations to everyone who took part.
Thanks to organiser Di Shimell and all the officials for helping on the day.
Isle of Man Athletics are pleased to announce the results of the Junior Inter Club Match held during the Track & Field Open meeting on 4th May 2016.
Points were awarded to the first two athletes from each Club, in each event, on a scale 6-1. The Club with the highest number of points gained over the match are the winners.
U13 & U15
1st with 202 points – Manx Harriers
2nd with 194 points – Northern AC
3rd with 78 points – Western AC
As you can see it was really close. If split between male and female events then Manx Harriers won the womens events and Northern the boys.
Interestingly if you then add the U17 results to the above Manx Harriers increased their lead to 264 points, Northern to 229 points and Western with 136 points. Manx Harriers dominated the U17 womens category but this was mainly due to their being only 1 person in the events. Northern & Western were much stronger in the U17 Mens events.
Well done to everyone that took part.

The IOMAA is seeking a Team Official (possibly one male and one female) to accompany the small number of 16 and 17 year old athletes we hope to send to Samoa, for the Commonwealth Youth Games this September.
This is not a coaching role – we are seeking mature individuals who will be required to look after young athletes far from home, and who are able to ensure everything is done to make the athletes’ experience of the Games as enjoyable and trouble-free as possible.
Anyone interested in taking on this very important role for the duration of the Games, from September 1st to September 14th 2015, is asked to contact the IOMAA Chairman on firstname.lastname@example.org , with a brief cv and application (no more than 200 words) outlining what relevant experience you have and what you could bring to the role.
The closing date for expressions of interest is Friday 20th February.
