Here is information on a forthcoming event which is being arranged by Isle of Man Sport. This will be of great interest to athletes, parents, coaches and Heads of Performance too. Feel free to let others know about it as well.

Isle of Man Athletics are pleased to announce the results of the Junior Inter Club Match held during the Track & Field Open meeting on 4th May 2016.
Points were awarded to the first two athletes from each Club, in each event, on a scale 6-1. The Club with the highest number of points gained over the match are the winners.
U13 & U15
1st with 202 points – Manx Harriers
2nd with 194 points – Northern AC
3rd with 78 points – Western AC
As you can see it was really close. If split between male and female events then Manx Harriers won the womens events and Northern the boys.
Interestingly if you then add the U17 results to the above Manx Harriers increased their lead to 264 points, Northern to 229 points and Western with 136 points. Manx Harriers dominated the U17 womens category but this was mainly due to their being only 1 person in the events. Northern & Western were much stronger in the U17 Mens events.

Here are the results from last nights Isle of Man Athletics Track & Field Open Meeting.
It was a cold and windy night but everyone did extremely well.

The first of this years Isle of Man Athletics Association Open Meetings will take place on Wednesday 4th May at the NSC, hosted by Manx Harriers.
Whilst this meeting is open all (age groups U13 and above) we will also be using it as a Junior Inter Club match with the first two athletes from each Club in each event (U13, U15 and U17) counting towards the match. Please ensure that you wear your Club Vests.
Registration will take place in Manx Harriers Clubhouse from 5pm for a 6.15pm start. Cost will be £2 for the first event and £1 for each event thereafter (max 3 events per competitor – all age groups)

Please see below a letter from the Temporary Head of Sport, Youth and Recreation Department of Education and Children:
Following consultation with the Minister and the CEO, it has been decided that all access to the Athletics facility is to be made free of charge to all users and hirers until Monday 13 June 2016. This includes individual use and any events or competitions that the Governing Body may have over the next few weeks.
This is a gesture of good will, given the ongoing difficulties we have regarding the sandpit and indeed the delay to the opening of the long jump, pole vault and hammer/discuss cage. It is important to note that all of these issues are as a result of contractors and suppliers failure to meet our expectations and timescales.
There will also be some further disruption to athletes once the TT Campsite is operational from the 30 May until 12 June. Athletes will be able to access the track during this period at agreed times as well as the long jump areas and high jump, again at agreed times. Unfortunately the Hammer cage and Pole Vault will not be able to be used during these dates.
On the 13 June, the normal price will be charged for access to the Athletics facilities and existing members will have the necessary refunds arranged there-after, where necessary.
