2012 Fixtures Calendar Notes
The 2012 Fixtures Calendar has been published after much
consultation with clubs, compromise and planning. A few
issues are highlighted below - there were actually far more in
producing the calendar - but hopefully the process is now
complete.
* 20km walk and 20 miles events in March clash due to race
walking international being part of the walks and so a set date
is required. The MH road 10km. has had to be dropped. Are these
the right way round?
* No rest for the wicked week and IOM marathon has moved into
July due to Olympics and non availability of some race
organisers.
* MMM has moved into September - this was planned by the Fell
runners to try and attract more entries for the event.
* IOM T&F Open dates should be seen as provisional.
* The calendar has undergone many changes over time so there
could be the odd error in this version. Hopefully, all will be
corrected by mid Jan. Would race organisers please check and
contact Andy Fox if they spot any errors.
* The possible Island Games XC event in March has been
cancelled.
* We cannot be certain what distances will be run in Dave
Phillips or Park runs - WAC and NAC will publish details nearer
the time.
* This calendar does not include sponsors names etc. This is
purely due to the amount of data included in a single page
document. No disrespect is intended. This document should be
seen as a planning document only.
